XML namespace

http://activemq.org/config/1.0

This address is the XML namespace URI of ActiveMQ 4.x broker configuration. It appears in thousands of Spring and activemq.xml files, which is why links to it survive long after the project moved. Like most namespace URIs it never served a document.

ActiveMQ 4.0 and 4.1 registered this namespace with XBean so that Spring could map <amq:broker> and its children onto broker classes. The elements are documented in Xml Configuration and Xml Reference, and the 4.0 schema the site shipped is activemq-4.0.xsd.

What replaced it

From ActiveMQ 5.0 (2007) the configuration namespace is http://activemq.apache.org/schema/core, with schemas published per version at activemq.apache.org/schema/core/. A 4.x file will not load in a modern broker without migrating the namespace and element names.
